On November 21, the first UHV transmission equipment manufacturing and application Summit Forum was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Experts from China Electrical Engineering Society and China Machinery Industry Federation, scholars from scientific research institutes, universities and investment institutions, and representatives of power enterprises and equipment manufacturing enterprises attended the forum. the forum was held against the background that China's UHV projects began to enter a period of accelerated construction. At the forum, participants explored and exchanged ideas on the manufacturing and application of UHV transmission equipment, and explored ways of cooperation and common development through the dissemination and sharing of relevant information. Caiweici, executive vice president of China Machinery Industry Federation, explained the development of China's electrical equipment manufacturing industry, while representatives of equipment manufacturing enterprises demonstrated the relationship between UHV and the development of manufacturing technology. The total export of products above 500 kV has reached 10billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of more than 40%. UHV performance has become a golden card for domestic enterprises to open the international market

In March of one year, the development of UHV transmission technology was included in the Twelfth Five Year Plan for national economic and social development of the people's Republic of China. On january18,2013, the key technologies, complete sets of equipment and engineering application projects of UHV AC transmission carried out by the State Power Corporation and other units won the grand prize of the national science and technology progress award, which is the highest national science and technology honor in the field of electrical engineering in China

UHV transmission technologies include UHV AC transmission and UHV DC transmission. Among them, UHV AC transmission refers to AC transmission with voltage class of 1000 kV and above, and UHV DC transmission refers to DC transmission with voltage class of 800 kV and above
